Chapter 2Verse 3

Sankhya Yoga

क्लैब्यं मा स्म गमः पार्थ नैतत्त्वय्युपपद्यते। क्षुद्रं हृदयदौर्बल्यं त्यक्त्वोत्तिष्ठ परन्तप॥

klaibyaṁ mā sma gamaḥ pārtha naitat tvayy upapadyate, kṣudraṁ hṛdaya-daurbalyaṁ tyaktvottiṣṭha parantapa

Meaning

This is Krishna's first response to Arjuna's despair on the battlefield, and it's blunt. Not comfort, but a direct call to stand back up. Sometimes what's needed isn't sympathy. It's someone telling you plainly that you're better than the moment you're stuck in.

Reflection

Don't give in to this weakness. Rise up, it doesn't suit you.
