Chapter 2Verse 62

Sankhya Yoga

ध्यायतो विषयान्पुंसः सङ्गस्तेषूपजायते। सङ्गात्सञ्जायते कामः कामात्क्रोधोऽभिजायते॥

dhyāyato viṣayān puṁsaḥ saṅgas teṣūpajāyate, saṅgāt sañjāyate kāmaḥ kāmāt krodho 'bhijāyate

Meaning

This traces the very start of the chain that the next verse follows through to ruin. It begins somewhere quiet: not with anger, but with dwelling on something a little too long.

Reflection

Anger doesn't start with anger. It starts with dwelling on something too long.
