Chapter 3Verse 8

Karma Yoga

नियतं कुरु कर्म त्वं कर्म ज्यायो ह्यकर्मणः। शरीरयात्रापि च ते न प्रसिद्ध्येदकर्मणः॥

niyataṁ kuru karma tvaṁ karma jyāyo hy akarmaṇaḥ, śarīra-yātrāpi ca te na prasiddhyed akarmaṇaḥ

Meaning

Waiting for motivation to show up before you act usually means nothing happens. Krishna's point is blunt: doing something is better than doing nothing, and even staying alive takes action. The bar isn't inspiration. It's just starting the work that's yours to do.

Reflection

Doing something beats doing nothing. Start the work that's yours.
