Chapter 6Verse 26

Dhyana Yoga

यतो यतो निश्चरति मनश्चञ्चलमस्थिरम्। ततस्ततो नियम्यैतदात्मन्येव वशं नयेत्॥

yato yato niścarati manaś cañcalam asthiram, tatas tato niyamyaitad ātmany eva vaśaṁ nayet

Meaning

The mind wandering off isn't a failure. It's just what minds do. The instruction is simple, and you repeat it as many times as needed: notice it's gone, and bring it back. Done steadily instead of with frustration, that returning is the whole practice.

Reflection

The mind wanders. You notice, and you bring it back. That's the practice, repeated.
